There is no Rent Pressure Zone calculator any more
Rent Pressure Zones were abolished on 28 February 2026. A national system of rent control replaced them the next day, and it does not depend on where the property is, so there is nothing left for a zone calculator to look up.
The good news is that the answer is simpler than it used to be. The cap is the same everywhere.
Use the rent increase calculatorWhat you were probably trying to find out
Whether your address is in a zone. It no longer matters. Every private tenancy in the State is capped now, including in areas that were never designated.
How much the rent can go up. Once every twelve months, by 2% or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower. Inflation is measured by the Consumer Price Index, so in a year it runs at 1.4% the ceiling is 1.4%.
Whether an exemption applies. Substantial change to the property still lifts the cap for one rent setting, and the test for it survived the transition largely intact. The exemption checker works through it.
One piece of the old system is still live
If the property is in an area that was designated a Rent Pressure Zone within the last two years, rent cannot be reviewed until twenty four months after it was last set, rather than twelve. After that first review the ordinary annual cycle applies. It is the one place where the old designation still changes the answer, and the calculator asks about it.
