Privacy and cookies
The calculators
Everything you type into the rent calculator or the exemption checker is worked out in your own browser. Your rent, your dates and your energy ratings are not sent to us, are not stored, and never leave the device. There is no account and nothing to sign into.
The one cookie
If you agree, Google Analytics counts the visit and sets its own cookie to do it. That is the only cookie on this site and it is the only thing here that contacts anybody else. It tells us which pages are read, which is how we decide what to write next.
If you decline, nothing loads. Not loaded and switched off: not loaded. Your answer is kept in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie of ours, so declining leaves nothing behind at all.
Advertising is off. We do not run ads, we have not enabled ad personalisation, and nothing about you is sold or shared with anybody.
Changing your mind
Clear this site’s data in your browser and the question comes back the next time you open a page. In most browsers that is under the padlock beside the address.
The map
Pressing the map button on a place or street page asks OpenStreetMap where that place is, which means your browser contacts them. It happens only when you press it, and the button says so. No map is loaded and nothing is requested before that.
What the data pages show
Sale prices and addresses come from the Property Price Register, which is published by the State and which carries no buyer or seller names. Neither do we. The methodology page sets out every source.
